THE COMPANY

In 2017, Alon Aranya launched PAPER PLANE PRODUCTIONS with an emphasis on producing and financing original international drama series around the world. The fast growth in global drama demand has established the need to develop and produce content in a multi-territory environment. Paper Plane Productions collaborates with producers, writers and broadcasters in several countries including the US, Holland, Israel, Germany, Ireland, India and Australia to help co-finance and develop local shows in those territories.

In 2020, Paper Plane entered a First Look Deal with Apple TV+ to co-produce and co-finance international dramas. As part of that deal, the company produced TEHRAN with the Israeli Public Broadcaster, which launched on Apple TV+ in September 2020, and won the International Emmy for Best Drama Series. Season two, featuring Glenn Close, premiered in May 2022. Season three, featuring Hugh Laurie, is currently in production in Athens.

In the US, Paper Plane focuses on adapting international IP, both scripted formats and original developments, into the US market. The company develops drama series for broadcast, cable and streaming with a focus on co-financing through deals with US outlets. Alon Aranya is the executive producer of YOUR HONOR, with Bryan Cranston, produced for Showtime, which started airing its second season in January 2023.

In 2018, the company partnered with CBS Studios International in a First Look deal, with a goal to launch a scripted international slate for the studio. The first co-production set under this deal was BESTSELLER BOY, an original Dutch show set up at the NPO, which premiered in November 2022.

Paper Plane is currently in post-production on its third international series, THE VANISHING TRIANGLE, an original Irish crime-noir set up at Virgin Ireland and Sundance / AMC. The show is currently in post-production.
